There’s a lovely small town in northeast Georgia named Lula. In the center across from the Mercantile, sits the train depot. The depot provides space for events, town meetings, and festivals. It also attracts tourists and photographers.
When the humans disperse, it becomes a playground for local critters. Let me introduce my version of the adorable animals I feel privileged to see on a regular basis. First of all that’s my husky, Carly, seated on the platform to the right. You may see her and me walking nearby. Same platform to the left, you’ll see the friendly, rugged German shepherd known as Chance.
There are so many feral cats in Lula I can’t be sure where they came from. They sure are cute though, when they’re not digging up your plants, or driving your dogs insane. The chickens are many around here, so again, I can’t be sure where they came from. However, I do suspect some made it here from one of our counsel men’s home.
Of course, Santa and his elves are not local, but always welcome. In addition, Julie, climbing on top of the train is not exactly local either but does have a pen nearby, in Gillsville. She enjoys breaking free and hanging out with the rest of these rebels.
